The Gentry keeps a warm hearth in the misty hills Louis Fraser once searched for tin. Mock-Tudor gables, hand-poured coffee, and a tartan of our own — a small nod to the Scotsman who gave this hill its name.

Our Story

Named for a hill, dressed like the highlands.

In 1890 a Scottish trader named Louis Fraser climbed into these hills chasing tin and never came back down. What he left behind became Malaysia's "Little England" — mock-Tudor rest houses, clipped hedges, and mornings cool enough for a proper cup of coffee.

The Gentry sits in that same mist. We steep coffee slowly, put up our own preserves in small batches, and pack them into hampers worth giving away. Our tartan isn't costume — it's a quiet nod to the name still painted on the hill.
